WI 14th Inf Co I. Residence: Black River Falls, Jackson County, Wisconsin. Born in Norway. Civil War: Age 21. Farmer. Unmarried. Blue eyes, brown hair, light complexion, 5’5”. Enrolled for three years on 4 Jan 1864 at Black River Falls. Enlistment credited to Albion, Wisconsin. Recruit. Private. Took part in the Red River Campaign, the battle of Tupelo, and a skirmish on the White River, Arkansas, 4 Sep 1864. He was on the march from Brownsville, Arkansas, to Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Was all through the Missouri Campaign, the battle of Nashville, the pursuit of Flood’s army, the siege of Fort Spanish and the campaign against Montgomery, Alabama.
