US Army. Born 16 Feb 1912 in Oslo, Norway, a son of Adolf and Ingeborg Andresen. Went through basic service in the Norwegian Army. Came to America in the late ‘30s. Married in 1939 to Christine Hailey. Second World War: Served in the US Army from 1943 until 1946. He was fluent in four languages and was assigned to the British Intelligence Services. Post war: Co-founded International Tobacco Company and became President and CEO of his firm. Died 3 Oct 2003 at Cypress Glen Retirement Community, Greenville, North Carolina.
