SANDIN, Charles

MN 2nd Inf Co I. Born in Upsala, Sweden, in Jan 1827. Traveled throughout Europe as an acrobat and contortionist. Came to America shortly before the Civil war. Civil War: Enlisted. Was assigned as bugler. Wounded in battle of Mission Ridge. Married while home on furlough to Sophia Peterson of Red Wing, Minnesota. Post war: Became a rural mail carrier.
