Log Cabin quilt was arranged using alternating light and dark diamonds
  • Date 1870-1890
  • Place of Origin Mineral Point, WI
  • Creator Unknown

This attractive Log Cabin quilt was arranged using alternating light and dark diamonds. The pattern uses red squares for the center of each block, and the “logs” are made from narrow strips of typical nineteenth century calicoes. The finishing is unusual in that it uses a “knife-edge” binding, which is a binding that is flipped to the back and does not show on the front.
